The LightBenders Photography Group in Kuwait in collaboration with Resty Lagare of Lovely Fashion held a photo shoot for a cause dubbed “La Resurreccion” on Friday at the Al Hashemi Ballroom, Radisson Blu Hotel featuring the Game of Thrones” inspired creations of Lagare matched with the breathtaking crowns and headdresses. The event sponsored by the AAB World aimed at honing the photography skills, techniques and creativity of the members.
“We hold trainings and workshops regularly to help our members improve their craft and explore their creativity.
We would like to thank world class Fashion Designer Resty Lagare for collaborating with us and AAB for sponsoring the event. Special thanks also to Ricky Laxa and Radisson Blu for this wonderful venue. Part of the proceeds of this event will be donated to the distressed OFWs in Kuwait,” stated Roden Quintinio, member of the organising committee.
Svelte and gorgeous models Leica Delos Santos in fi ery red gown, Joanne Lolarga in immaculate white and Zusiette Bulquiren in elegant black were transformed into royalties by one of the sought after hair and make-up artists in Kuwait, Marlon Malinao of MARvelous Make-up Artistry with Assistant Designer Regie Villanueva in tow. Lagare, one of the top Filipino designers in Kuwait has created masterpieces for famous fashion houses in Dubai, United Arab Emirates when he fi rst stepped in the Middle East in 1993 and in Kuwait in 1995. Resty, the current resident Fashion Designer of Lovely Fashion, one of the biggest Haute Couture shops in Kuwait, known for his simple yet elegant haute couture has conquered the fashion scene for over two decades now intricately designing exquisite creations for members of the royal family, local actresses and other distinguished personalities in Kuwait. “I always see to it that whenever someone wears my creation, she would surely dazzle in the crowd.
People would look at the fantastic gown but they would be more interested in the person who’s wearing it,” points out Lagare.
His fl are for elegance in haute couture earned him the admiration of his vast clientele ranging from simple folks to royalties. Lagare explores all the possibilities when coming up with his designs. His creativity soars with no limits.
“Collaborating with world-class Filipino designer sir Resty is a great experience for us members of Light-Benders and hopefully we can work with more talents and more photo shoot to come,” stated Jonno Abao. The LightBenders founded in February 2011 whose core group is composed of Filipino photography enthusiasts bonded together to make a difference in the world of photography. ‘LightBenders’ — inspired from the blockbuster movie ‘The Last Airbender,’ they too have the capacity to ‘bend’ the light to create a masterpiece. The LightBenders is a small tightly-knit group brimming with enthusiasm and passion for photography.
