Suited for lightweight configurations like handheld, drone, or gimbal use, the RED RAVEN BRAIN 4.5K camera with EF Mount features the DRAGON 9.9MP CMOS sensor. The compact yet durable RAVEN weighs in at 3.5 pounds, and features a robust, cinematic 16.5+ stops of dynamic range.

The RAVEN offers you the choice of recording 4.5K, Full Format video at up to 120 fps, or for higher-speed shots, 2K Full Format at up to 240 fps. Recording codecs include the proprietary REDCODE RAW (R3D), Apple ProRes, and Avid DNxHD. Options include recording proxy files only, or capturing in REDCODE RAW (R3D) and Apple ProRes simultaneously.

Housed in a durable lightweight body, the modular RAVEN can be customized to your liking with separately available RED DSMC2 components such as I/O expander modules, battery plates, EVFs, handles, etc. The RAVEN BRAIN includes an integrated RED MINI-MAG media bay, and an AC power supply with 6-pin LEMO cable.

4.5K DRAGON Sensor

The 4.5K DRAGON sensor at the heart of the RAVEN provides you with RED's cinema-grade dynamic range and color science. This 9.9MP CMOS image sensor captures high-resolution video and stills in 4.5K Full Format at rates up to 120 fps, or 2K Full Format at rates up to 240 fps.

REDCODE RAW

RED's proprietary REDCODE (R3D) codec provides the flexibility of RAW files without the drive-busting storage requirements of uncompressed data. REDCODE RAW works with many popular NLE systems without the need for transcoding. Compatible programs include Adobe Premiere Pro, Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer.

Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD Formats

When proxy or lower-resolution files are suitable for your project, the RED RAVEN can record 2K Apple ProRes 422 or AVID DNxHD LB 8-bit HD video, both at up to 60 fps. Load the resulting files directly into your compatible NLE without spending time transcoding, and start your edits.

DSMC2 Form Factor

The RAVEN shares the DSMC2 design common to many RED cameras, enabling you to add the specific components suited to your shooting style. Separately-available items include EVFs, I/O expander modules, battery plates, handles, and more.
